  On our body's face in the upper periorbital region, the Eyebrow is a curved rows area of thick short rooted hairs (Browy), located on the upper edges of the eye socket (orbit), that follows the shape of the lower margin of the brow ridges.

Eyebrow Function

  On and in our body's periorbital region of the head, our Eyebrows help keep dust and perspiration out of the eyes and help shade the eyes from sunlight. **

“Eyelids (Blepharons)”  

Eyelid

  On our body's face in the periorbital region, each Eyelid, as an extension of skin from the forehead and cheek, is the upper and lower thin fold of skin that covers and protects the eye when closed, featuring an external row of eyelashes and the internal meibomian glands (tarsal glands) within the eyelid that secretes the lipid part of the tearfilm.

Blepharon

  On our body, each Blepharon is made up of several layers; from superficial to deep including: skin, subcutaneous tissue, orbicularis oculi, orbital septum & tarsal plates (tarsi), and palpebral conjunctiva.
  The eyelid muscles of facial expression are:

• eyelid raiser facial movement uses the levator palpebrae superioris muscle, superior tarsal muscle
• eyelid tightener facial movement uses the orbicularis oculi (pars palpebralis) muscle
