Adaptor Related Protein Complex 5

  In protein science, Adaptor Related Protein Complex 5 (AP5) is a subgroup of the adaptor related protein complexes (AP related complexes) involved in trafficking proteins from endosomes towards other membranous compartments.
  The adaptor related protein complex 5 gene family (AP5 gene family) includes the following genes:
  • AP5B1 gene encoding the adaptor related protein complex 5 subunit beta 1
  • AP5M1 gene encoding the adaptor related protein complex 5 subunit mu 1
  • AP5S1 gene encoding the adaptor related protein complex 5 subunit sigma 1
  • AP5Z1 gene (SPG48 gene) encoding the adaptor related protein complex 5 subunit zeta 1
