  In nature, Magnoliopsida is a class vascular flowering plants, heterotypic synonyms to Angiospermae class or a clade and the Magnoliophyta division or phylum, today commonly called angiosperms, in the the plant division of phyto-terrestrial plants, in the Kingdom Plantae (Plants).

Angiosperms (Angiospermae or Magnoliophyta) are seed-producing plants like the gymnosperms that can be distinguished from the gymnosperms by a series of derived characteristics (synapomorphies) including: flowers, endosperm within the seeds, and the production of fruits that contain the seeds.
