  In nature, Brassica rupestris (brown mustard) is a flowering suffruticose chamaephyte plant species of the Brassica genus in the Brassicinae subtribe of the tribe Tribus Brassiceae (tribus Brassiceae) in the Brassicaceae family within the Brassicales order.
  As a wild taxa, Brassica rupestris is found in limestone cliffs, and utilized as vegetables as a traditional component of the Mediterranean diet in some Mediterranean countries.
