  In our body's cells, Coat Protein Complex I (COPI coat complex) is a heteroheptameric complex, mainly involved in the retrieval of escaped ER resident proteins, and the recycling of transmembrane cargo receptors from the ERGIC and cis-Golgi cisternae to the ER, as well as in intra-Golgi retrograde transport.
