Sapogenin

  In phytochemistry, Sapogenins, many from nature as phytonutrients, are the aglycone moiety (glycoside-free portion) of a natural saponin molecule.
  In nature, the aglycone (non-saccharide) of the saponins are termed Sapogenin containing steroid or other triterpene frameworks as their key organic feature.
  The glycoside-free (aglycone) is the lipophilic part of the saponin termed sapogenins and include:

• sapogenins
  • triterpene saponins
  • steroidal saponins
